Anyone who has lived near large bodies of water knows it is common to use a pontoon boat for fire and rescue. With people living on houseboats, on the waterfront, or spending more time on boats, there are also marine structures within waterways, for fire and rescue purposes and using pontoon boats is increasing. If the rescue crew doesn’t have enough room to carry all this equipment it is possible that the patient that they are working with will not receive the medical attention in a timely manor and can result in loss of life. Pontoon boats used for fire and rescue are a vital, crucial part of maintaining safety on the waterways. People would not have the access to urgent medical attention when it is most needed. In emergency situations time is of the essence and with the ease of maneuvering and ability to dock in many situations the fire and rescue pontoon is a valuable tool to water based businesses and individuals. Such as those that reside on oil rigs or deep sea diving barges. The fire and rescue pontoons are the first ones to respond most of the time and this is a great benefit to the injured person.

Fire and rescue pontoons are a vital part of the water community and a relatively inexpensive investment when it comes to the higher costs of fancier models, that aren’t capable of doing half of what many other water transport vehicles will sell for. The more money a fire and rescue department can save, the more money they have to invest in state-of-the-art rescue equipment, so while economizing in one area, this allows for increased expenditure in a more important area. In the fire and rescue community many people are employed and work on fire and rescue pontoons everyday all over the United States. This is just another example where pontoons can provide a service far beyond leisure and pleasure.
