Mineral Makeup Application Tricks

Only 20% of women who use mineral makeup use it correctly. Failure to prepare is preparing to fail, and mineral makeup requires a lot more preparation than traditional makeup. If you want to master this skill and get the best and most natural look possible from your mineral makeup, then you’ve found the right article!

Must Do’s Before Putting On Your Mineral Makeup

Many are willing to teach how to apply mineral makeup. But, they often forget to mention how to get your skin ready before application. You need a good cleanser and an effective moisturizer to make you appear more glowing with your mineral makeup.

Use a good cleanser to clear out your pores. Scrub your face softly with a washcloth to scrape off any old skin flakes. Finish up by rinsing your face completely clean with cold water.

You’ll want to moisturize with a small bead of your favorite moisturizer. Rub it evenly all over your face and be sure that it is completely soaked up before continuing. Finish off by concealing and blemishes. Use a concealer that matches your shade as closely as possible and lightly touch and blend and areas you want to hide.

Mineral Makeup Application Strategy

Now that you’ve properly prepared your skin for the mineral makeup, the application process is probably not much different that you’ve seen in any other instructions. Prepare a small portion of the foundation in a small dish, or the lid of the foundation jar, and dip your brush into it to pick up some of the powder.

You can get rid of any extra powder by gently tapping the brush into the dish until you have just enough. Application should start on the outer edges of your face, working towards the center. Be sure to start slowly so you can be sure you’re using the right shade for your skin tone. If not, you can mix two tones until you have a proper match. Continue applying the foundation, keeping in mind that the goal of mineral makeup is a bare, natural look. So don’t go overboard!

For the finishing touches you can use your favorite blush-on and eye shadow. Mineral or not, the application is the same. Apply the eye shadow starting on the outside and working your way in, just as with the foundation. Use the blush-on to accentuate your cheekbones however you prefer.

YouTube has a huge selection of free video tutorials covering various application methods. Feel free to pick the one you like best. Practice makes perfect, so keep at it until you’ve mastered your favorite one!
